Paradise Country

Paradise Country is an ongoing series about my experience and time of living in the remote Australia. Told in long form photographic tradition through details and place, has been shot on the lands of Balangarra and Mirriwong traditional owners, collectively known as the Kimberley in Australia’s North West.

The land and human occupation is always present. However, I am less concerned with the grandeur of the region and more interested in exploring the quiet, visual juxtapositions and dynamics between natural and developed spaces; set against the backdrop of geographic, environmental and colonial legacy. Made over six years this ongoing work has given me the time, contemplation and intention to make works that befits pace and scale of the place in amid the turmoil of change, resource extraction and environmental impacts.
